and theorists argue that dealing with the study of the subject. Also, and from
a literature, we discuss the distance education, identifying it as an educational
model that has features of “Emerging Educational Paradigm.” Thus, we
performed a literature search, this is theoretical. For studies of Literacy and
Digital Literacy consult Smith (1998, 2002), Kleiman (2007), Leffa (2005),
Xavier (2004) and Heath (1983). About Distance Education and Teacher
Training Pine (2007, 2011), Cantarelli, Wippel & Cardoso (2007), Kleiman
(2006, 2007). About Emerging Educational Paradigm Candido Maria Moraes
(2004). The study reveals that the Digital Literacy is a reality that needs to be
effective teachers with an initial and continuing training within NTCIs. That
DL is a powerful ally for this to occur, because, by its transcendent character
of space and time, acts favorably to that education professionals can not, do
not want or have no opportunity to attend an undergraduate and / or expertise
in face study mode. I also noticed that DL is in the context of the Emerging
Educational Paradigm, presenting himself as a way of teaching and learning
that breaks with traditional forms of education, where students and teachers
are agents of a process that passes without any predetermined location or
time by promoting learner autonomy. Furthermore, DL is presented as an
alternative to democratize education in a country of continental dimensions
like Brazil and may contribute to the emergence of literate society.
